NEWS

Learning in teams: virtual school trip

Watch how primary school pupils in Florence, Italy, used digital tools to organise a virtual school trip to London and learn about other cultures as part of iTEC learning activities. According to the teacher: “There was a change in the students’ working methods: they worked in groups and discussed in a new way, and the students started to collaborate with new classmates”.

Introducing 3D learning in the classroom

The Future Classroom Lab is pleased to announce the addition of a new sponsor to the lab. Gaia Technologies, one of the leading developers of 3D learning technologies, will work in partnership with the Future Classroom Lab in developing visual learning scenarios for the future classroom. Find out more at the project website and read a white paper on the impact of 3D learning in education.

New solutions for industry and education collaboration bring STEM teaching and careers further into focus

A critical component of inGenious, the flagship European Commission project fostering STEM education and careers, are a series of National deep-dives or "Needs Analyses" on industry and education collaboration in the teaching of STEM. The reports provide enlightening information about STEM teaching in 15 European countries and will form the basis of a comparative assessment of the state of industry-education collaboration in Europe. Pupils and teachers redesigning the school

On 14 January, the Future Classroom Lab hosted teachers and pupils from Immaculata Instituut, Malle, Belgium. The theme of the visit, part of the school’s iTEC activities, was ‘Redesigning the School’. Both pupils and teachers offered contributions on how they would like the education system to evolve, with an emphasis on more interactive learning environments, and self-directed learning.
